Galaxy United have announced Laura Spiranovic as the club’s inaugural player for the 2016 WNPL season.
The signing is a massive coup for the club, with Spiranovic being a local who also featured at North Geelong Warriors in her youth.
A current Melbourne Victory W-League player, she has scored twice this season from five games, adding to her five goals in 19 appearances in previous campaigns.
The striker featured at Ashburton United last season, scoring 10 goals as the side progressed to a semi-final finish.
She scored 11 times during South Melbourne’s title winning season in 2014, the club where she also won the FFV Gold Medal and Golden Boot in 2011.
The announcement was made at the club’s information night, where the logo and kit were also revealed.
The Spiranovic name is one of the most recognised in Australian football, with brother Matthew a current Socceroo.
She’ll link up with new coach Vicenzo Iearardo, who’ll be leading the club in its first foray in the Women’s National Premier League in Victoria.
