Former NPL Victoria trio Tomislav Uskok, Dan Heffernan and Francesco Stella are back on the market having been released by A-League club Central Coast Mariners.
Each player made six, seven and eight appearances respectively for the cellar dwellers, who have begun their clearout following a disastrous season.
Englishman Heffernan joined from Heidelberg United but mostly played second fiddle to Irishman Roy O’Donovan up front, not scoring in his time at Gosford.
Th 28-year-old had joined the club in pre-season, subsequently missing Heidelberg United’s FFA Cup quarter-final clash against Melbourne City.
Despite scoring freely in trial games, his game time was limited and hadn’t been seen in a matchday squad after mid-season.
Former Knights captain Uskok had agreed terms with NPL NSW side Sydney United before being snapped up the Mariners, where he was deployed in the backline.
The imposing 24-year-old played his junior football at the Knights, before spending short stints with Richmond SC and St Albans Saints, before returning to Somers Street in 2011.
Stella, meanwhile, had his second A-League stint after previously featuring for Melbourne Victory.
He made his was to Gosford from Avondale FC, having also played in Thailand since his Victory release.
Another NPL Victoria player in Alastair Bray still remains at the club, while fellow former VPL player Glenn Trifiro has also earlier been released by the Mariners.
