The Corner Flag can report that 26-year-old wide man Ivan Pavlak has departed NPL Victoria club Hume City.
The versatile left flanker was a noticeable absentee in Hume City’s narrow 1-0 win over Pascoe Vale last weekend, despite the absence of Shaun Timmins through injury.
Pavlak has made just three appearances this season – his last being in the Round 7 loss to Melbourne Knights – having played in 24 league games in his maiden season with Hume City in 2015, in which he also played a role in the club’s run to the FFA Cup Semi-Finals.
The Canberra native is an AIS graduate and has spent time with Sydney FC’s NYL side, as well as stints with Canberra FC, Sydney United and time in Europe with Austria Vienna.
Pavlak was complementary of the Hume City environment in lieu of his departure.
“The culture among the playing group is great and I have enjoyed my time with them. For a variety of reasons, both professional and personal, I have made the decision to leave Hume City,” Pavlak told The Corner Flag.
“I am sure other opportunities will now present themselves for me to continue my football career. The transfer window is coming up and the time was right to pursue other options.”
The change will create a hole in the defensive line for Hume City in the fixtures ahead leading up to the transfer window. The club will no doubt look to promote youth from the Under 20s to fill the void and make other adjustments in the weeks ahead
Hume City is yet to make an announcement from the club about Pavlak’s departure.
