Melbourne Heart FC can take heart from opponents Newcastle Jets’ recent form this weekend, says coach John Aloisi.
The Jets endured a difficult start to the season before winning their last two games and moving up to third on the ladder.
Aloisi is confident his team can do likewise, starting with this weekend’s game against Gary van Egmond’s charges.
“We know its going to be a tough game because Newcastle are a team that works very hard and we look at them also and see how they’ve turned their season around in the passed few weeks,” Aloisi said.
“The players themselves are very positive about us turning it around and we know that we are on the right track.
“We don’t change to much drastically in terms of our shape or our structure., its more about improving and making sure that we still create other chances to score goals and we’re focused on that.”
Patrick Kinsorbo is an 80% chance to make a return against the Jets according to Aloisi, but the coach will make a decision on the defender after training tomorrow.
“Kisnorbo trained with us yesterday,” Aloisi said.
“He looked good but he’ll train again today and tomorrow and we’ll make a decision after that…we’ll see how Patrick pulls through.”
Michael Mifsud will also carry some form into Sunday’s game after scoring for Malta mid-week, but Aloisi is still yet to decide how much of a role the forward will play.
“We have to see how he pulls up,” he said.
“[He] ended up scoring for Malta on Tuesday night so hopefully that will give him some confidence and we’re hoping that he’ll play.”
