Bentleigh Greens have added the signature of former Melbourne Victory man Kieran Dover.

The 19-year-old made a lasting impression in Dandenong Thunder’s 2014 NPL campaign, earning the Rising Star of the Month (Rounds 17-21) award and scored five goals in a struggling Thunder team that towards the end of the season was looming near relegation.

Before that, Dover was nurtured by Stuart Munro at the Rowville Secondary Football Academy, with the Scotsman giving the youngster his senior debut with Thunder in 2013.

He went on to play 29 games and score five times at Thunder.

The English-born attacking midfielder was a youth player at Sunderland before moving to Australia, where he was at Berwick City initially.

He made his debut in Victory’s senior team as a 90th minute substitute against Sydney FC in Round 6 of the 2014/15 A-League season.

Dover’s contribution to the club’s NPL side included 23 games and 10 goals in 2015, and nine games and one goal in 2016.

Dover follows Damien Miskulin to depart from the club mid-season, with the latter signing on at Melbourne Knights.

He strengthens the squad of the reigning champions who are hot on the trails of league leaders South Melbourne, while also preparing for next week’s FFA Cup clash on the border with Murray United.
