Former Casey Comets defender Harriet Cordner has joined Melbourne United for the 2016 NPLW Victoria season, the club’s fourth official signing of the pre-season.
The no-nonsense defender has been with Casey for three seasons where she’s established a reputation as one of her sides best performers week in, week out.
A picture of consistency, Cordner spent time in the midfield in 2015 where she added bite and tenacity through the middle of the park when called upon by long-time coach Ian Williamson.
Her strong performances in 2015 saw her grab two goals, having made close to 50 appearances in her three seasons with the Cranbourne-based outfit.
She made her WPL debut with Ashburton in 2012, having previously turned out for Boroondara Eagles, where she played both Metropolitan League football as well as making appearances in their State League 3 winning season of 2011, where she scored a hat-trick in a Qualifying Final.

“I’m delighted to have Harriet join us this season,” Melbourne coach Sinisa Cohadzic said.
“She is a very disciplined, courageous and a commited player that wants to improve every single session. Her athleticism and defensive ability will improve us in an area we’re look to strengthen.”
Corner has been with the club throughout pre-season and featured in a recent friendly against Box Hill United.
