Melbourne Heart have released veteran striker Dylan Macallister with immediate effect, allowing the 31 year-old to pursue a career option in Asia.
Macallister played 21 games for Heart over two seasons, with his game time this campaign restricted to a single appearance off the bench, in which he got sent off.
The journeyman striker turned out for four A-League clubs, churning out 80 appearances for a return of 14 goals.
“Dylan has been an absolute professional around the club since he arrived last season,” Heart’s football operations manager John Didulica said in a press release earlier today.
“Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to play regular football for the Club this season so a move makes sense for both the Club and the player.
“We wish Dylan and his young family all the best for the future.”
Macallister played no part in Heart’s 3-1 victory against Newcastle Jets tonight, missing through suspension.
