Galaxy United’s squad continued to take shape over the past week with the additions of two players from North Geelong Warriors.
Britt Elsen signed after playing locally her whole career, while Amelia Spiranovic joined sister Laura at the club.
Elsen started her career at Breakwater Soccer Club before winning a state league championship at Lara SC.
She has also represented Greater Geelong Galaxy at Victorian Champions League and premier league level, before moving to State one North Geelong for the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, the addition of Amelia means Galaxy has two pairs of sisters – alongside Melissa and Adriana Taranto – at the club.
It’s not the first time the Spiranovics feature together in senior football, having joined South Melbourne in the WPL in 2008.
Their time at Lakeside culminated in a 2011 Championship, a side that Amelia captained to a 2-1 victory over Sandringham.
She also then played for Altona, helping the team earn promotion from division 1 back into the Premier League before moving back play for childhood club North Geelong, while Laura eventually moved to Ashburton.
Vincenzo Ierardo’s current squad consists of 14 players, including Elsen, the Tarantos and Spiranovics, Kat Smith, Kariah White, Sarah Sumner, Aneta Komijat, Whitney Knight, Annabel Martin, Jade Feakes, Sky Jensen and Katie Neville.
