Melbourne Heart have confirmed that central defender Patrick Kisnorbo is set to miss up to three weeks of action after sustaining a knee cartilage injury against Perth Glory over the weekend.
Heart’s 1-0 loss at nib Stadium on Sunday was compounded by the injury to their key defender, as he was replaced by Patrick Gerhardt in the 51st minute after hurting his right knee.
The former Leeds defender was attempting to chase down Jamie Maclaren when he crumped to the turf, leaving the Perth Glory young gun to score the deciding goal for the hosts.
Kisnorbo has undergone minor arhroscopic surgery which confirmed that there was no major damage, but he will still be forced to miss the next few games as Heart seek their first win of the season.
There was some good news for the club at least though as captain Harry Kewell returns to training this week after his whiplash injury saw him miss the last two games, but the Australian international is still in doubt for the Round 4 A-League clash against Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.
