Melbourne City have announced Amy Jackson as the club’s newest acquisition for the 2016 W-League season.
She becomes the fifth ex-Victory player to make the direct switch to their crosstown rivals, behind Brianna Davey, Lisa De Vanna, Beattie Goad and Steph Catley, while Laura Alleway and Rebekah Stott also previously featured for Victory.
The 2014 Victory W-League Player of the Year backed up her stellar season with a standout state league campaign, sweeping the awards for her form at Boroondara Eagles.
She claimed the Sportsmart Women’s Premier League Gold Medal, Player’s Player of the Year, Golden Boot and Bill Fleming awards, adding to her Sportsmart WPL Premiership and Team App Cup triumphs this season.
Her side just missed out on championship glory, falling at the final hurdle to South Melbourne.
Melbourne City have now confirmed 12 signings, with more players to be announced closer to the commencement W-League season.
The club’s debut game in the league will be away against Sydney FC on October 18.
