Kingston City have added midfielder Corey Slevin for the 2017 NPL Victoria season.
The 27-year-old will be hoping for more consistent game time after work commitments restricted his game time to just three matches for Oakleigh Cannons and one appearance for Green Gully.
Born in Belfast, the former Australian youth representative and Football Superstar contestant spent much of his career playing league football in Queensland before moving to Victoria.
His form for Bendigo, which yielded 12 goals in the second tier of the NPL in 2015, then earned him top-flight interest.
Oakleigh made an offer which he accepted but after starting the season with a few appearances, struggled for game time, with a move to Green Gully resulting in a similar outcome.
His move to the Grange keeps him in the top flight and a fresh opportunity to impose himself in the NPL while aiding the south-east club’s first campaign at the summit of Victorian football in the NPL era.
“Corey brings added experience to our club. He has the hunger to succeed and develop his game for us which was a key for us. This attitude we believe will help our young team push on from last season,” Kingston coach Nick Tolios said.
He joins Daniel Bennett, Chris Irwin, Nathan Tidmarsh and Faisal Sakhizada as new signings for Tolios for 2017.
