Melbourne Knights have secured the signature of Julius Davies as a mid-season addition at Somers Street.
He signs for the Knights to bolster Andrew Marth’s squad, and is available to feature in the club’s FFA Cup campaign – to be played against former club Port Melbourne – due to not being cup tied from his time at Northcote.
Originally from Sierra Leone, Davies migrated to Australia and was at Western Australian club Swan IC when German powerhouse Bayern Munich signed him to their youth side.
After a number of years in their youth system, along with a stint at Hoffenheim’s academy as well – during which he trained with Australian youth international camps – he made his return to Australia to play for Melbourne Victory.
He made his debut as a substitute for Harry Kewell in 2012, before switching to Brisbane Roar in 2013.
He made two appearances for both A-League clubs before heading to Romania where he signed for top flight club Oţelul Galaţi.
However his stay was short lived and he returned to Port Melbourne, where he featured throughout the 2015 NPL season.
After trials overseas he returned again to the NPL Victoria in 2016 for Northcote City, where he was released and featured in the state leagues.
“This is a great club, I’m happy to be a part of it and really looking forward to a successful second half to the season” Davies said via press release.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity, I’ve heard a lot of good things from other people and we’ve got a very good coach here so I can’t wait to get into the thick of things”.
The 21-year-old joins Damien Miskulin as a mid-season addition to Somers Street.
