Melbourne Knights’ captain Tomislav Uskok is set to move to Sydney United for the 2016 NPL season.
The 23-year-old was one of the competition’s best players in 2015, helping the club to fourth place in the league with a number of standout performances at both holding midfield and centre back.
It followed on from a history-making 2014, during which Uskok embarked on a maiden FFA Cup run and scored a dramatic late winner against South Springvale in the Dockerty Cup final.
Thank you to all the fans who have supported us this season the love and passion for this club will never fade @MelbKnights #Croatiatillidie

Uskok has been at his boyhood club since 2011 after making the move from St Albans, taking over the armband from Ben Surey this year.
He played 85 league games for six goals in total, developing a knack for scoring at crucial moments, particularly against traditional rivals South Melbourne.
“I have plenty of memories both at Somers Street and even some with the MCF [Melbourne Croatia Fans] at Lakeside Stadium and Clarendon Street,” Uskok told the Corner Flag earlier this year.
“There is not much better than hearing the [Knights] stadium chanting.”
Uskok will have the chance to catch up with his former teammates as he represents Mark Rudan’s side in the Friendship Cup next season.
