Ufuk Kubilayhan has been appointed to take over the senior coaching role at Hume City on the eve of its FFA Cup clash with Moreland City, replacing David Chick in the hotseat.
Chick will now assume assistant duties, with Dean Hennessey continuing in his technical manager role.
It’s the second consecutive season in which a managerial change has been made at the club around an FFA Cup date, following last year’s departure of Lou Acevski.
Kubilayhan was most recently an assistant at Murray United to player-manager James Coutts.
He returns to Hume City having coached the U15s and U16s between 2014-16, enjoying championship success.
The UEFA A-Licence holder has also been a head coach at Southern Stars between 2008-10, when the club was in the Victorian state leagues.
Included in Kubilayhan’s CV is also a spell as assistant at Altinordu FC in the second-tier of football in Turkey.
He is also a former technical director of the Galatasaray Australia academy.
The appointment is effective immediately and his first task will be an FFA Cup Round 7 encounter with Moreland City at ABS Stadium tonight.
