Although they’ve had a bright enough start to season 2015, Hume City’s season is set to lighten up even more as they prepare to face North Geelong Warriors under the new lights of ABD Stadium in Broadmeadows.
The night fixture promises to add an extra edge between the two mid-table clubs and coach Lou Acevski believes it’s a big occasion to play the twilight fixture in front of home support.
“It’s the first night game under the new lights for the club, it’s a big occasion,” Acevski said.
“We’ve played many night games before, but obviously playing on your own turf at night means a lot to us as a club.
“We need to come out and perform to our best ability in order to reward the fans who come along.”
Former Dandenong Thunder man Marcus Schroen is another avid supporter of the night time fixture, having experienced his fair share at George Andrews Reserve.
“Night games are good, they bring a really good atmosphere,” Schroen said.
“The lights will be on, maybe the pitch will be a little moist, so you can knock the ball around a bit quicker.
“It will be a good night.”
