Matildas full-back and former Melbourne Victory skipper Steph Catley is expected to complete a stunning move to Melbourne City ahead of their debut W-League campaign.
The news comes off the back of another former Victory player – goalkeeper Brianna Davey – finally making her switch to City official earlier this afternoon.
The impending announcement of Catley’s signing is set to make her the fourth player to swap Melbourne clubs, with the formal announcement of several more ex-teammates expected to be named within the coming weeks.
It’s widely believed that Catley agreed in principle to join City as far back as a month ago, with a formal signing and announcement set to take place when she returns from duties with National Women’s Soccer League club side Portland Thorns.
With the first round of W-League trials conducted over the last week, more player news is expected to follow.
