Melbourne City FC has secured former Celtic and Manchester United midfielder Liam Miller on a short term contract.
The 33-year-old was released by Brisbane only a few weeks ago following a reported dispute with coach Mike Mulvey after being dropped from the first team.
Joining City under Football Federation Australia’s National Team Replacement Player Rule, Miller trained with the club this morning and will be available for Sunday’s clash with the Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park.
The former Republic of Ireland international helped the Roar secure its third Hyundai A-League championship last season.
Miller first arrived in the A-League in 2011, featuring 49 times for Perth before a moving to Brisbane.
City will be without a host of players for this weekend’s clash against Central Coast Mariner, with Aaron Mooy (Socceroos) and Stefan Mauk (Olyroos) on international duty, while Robert Koren (calf), Jonatan Germano (hamstring) and Massimo Murdocca (groin) remain on short to long term injury lists.
