Miron departs Oakleigh

The NPL’s highest credentialed coach Miron Bleiberg has departed Oakleigh Cannons due to “business and family” reasons.

With Oakleigh struggling at the wrong end of the ladder – in 12th position with only five points – the decision to move from the club seemed a foregone conclusion with external pressure building.

Bleiberg stated via his Twitter that the move will allow “someone local [to lead] than for me to stay half committed”

He also stated that he believed “results are just around the corner” for the Cannons.

Arthur Papas, back from his stint in India, will take over managerial duties.

An Oakleigh Cannons statement thanked Bleiberg “for his unparalleled commitment and devotion to the betterment and success of our club.”
