Elation, Frustration & Redemption
Big crowds, thumping atmosphere and intense high-scoring contests.
It’s a formula that has worked wonders for Hume City throughout its FFA Cup campaign and one that almost nearly secured the northern suburbs club a remarkable win over reigning A-League champions Melbourne Victory in a pre-season hitout.
Had it not been for late charges by Broxham and Berisha, the club would have entered its quarter-final clash with cross-town compatriots Oakleigh Cannons with the world at its feet.
However, the momentum has not stopped.
The club will return to the fortress that is ABD Stadium tomorrow night off the back of this respectable performance with the hopes of becoming the first Victorian NPL side to secure a spot in this year’s FFA Cup semi-finals.
