Former Melbourne Knights captain Tomislav Uskok has completed a shock move to A-League club Central Coast Mariners, having originally travelled to New South Wales to sign with NPLNSW outfit Sydney United.
The technically gifted centre-half – equally adept at playing at central midfield – trialled with the Mariners in pre-season, having also linked up with Newcastle Jets for a trial last season, and has signed for the remainder of the 2015-16 A-League season.
He developed a knack of scoring crucial goals for his team, netting four times this season in 23 appearances.

The imposing 24-year-old played his junior football at the Knights, before spending short stints with Richmond SC and St Albans Saints, before returning to Somers Street in 2011.
He took over the captains armband at the beginning of the 2015 NPL Victoria season and saw his game further develop in a blistering personal campaign.
Uskok becomes the second player from the NPL Victoria to sign for Central Coast this season, as he follows former Heidelberg United striker Daniel Heffernan, and links up at the club with former Northcote City midfielder Glen Trifiro.
The move to Mariners secures what is his first ever professional contract.
