Northcote City’s transfer preparations for 2016 have continued with the acquisition of young trio Alec Goodwin, Trent Manicas and Milos Ilic.
Goodwin and Manicas – both of whom have previously worked with new Northcote coach Zeljko Kuzman – make the switch from Port Melbourne, while Milos Ilic last featured for Heidelberg United in 2016.
Goodwin scored four goals from 13 starts at Port in 2016, making 23 appearances in total for the Sharks.
The 20-year-old was memorably a standout in a Round 6 victory over Green Gully.
Trent Manicas made eight appearances last season for Eric Vassiliadis’ men after featuring intermittently for the seniors the year before.
Meanwhile, Ilic came through the ranks at Heidelberg to make a senior debut for George Katsakis’ side in 2016.
The former U20s captain made a handful of senior appearances early at right-back before off-season signing Josh Wilkins made the position his own throughout the campaign.
Departing the club in mid-season transfer window, Ilic trialled with Serbian club Teleoptik, the feeder club of Partizan.
The transfers follow the recent acquisitions of Baggio Youssif from Moreland Zebras and Josh Knight from St Albans Saints – following the earlier arrival of goalkeeper Griffin McMaster and English defender Nathan Cook – taking the club’s signings tally to seven as Zeljko Kuzman’s squad takes shape for 2017.
