Melbourne Victory young guns Scott Galloway and Rashid Mahazi have declared themselves excited about their futures after signing new deals yesterday afternoon.
The club announced today that both Galloway and Mahazi have extended their existing contracts by a further two years, committing to Victory until the end of the 2016/17 Hyundai A-League season.
Perth-born Galloway, who has already played 38 league games for Melbourne Victory since his debut in 2012, is excited about moving forward with the club.
“Melbourne Victory is the biggest club in the country and I’ve enjoyed my time here, it’s been amazing and I want to continue my career at Melbourne Victory,” Galloway said.
“I feel my progression as a footballer is only going to enhanced being at this club, especially working with a great group of coaches led by Kevin so it’s the best environment for me to be in moving forward.”
Galloway will be hoping to not only achieve success with Victory, but also the Olyroos, as they strive for Rio 2016 qualification.
Former Northcote City man Mahazi, who debuted in October 2013 and who has 26 league appearances to his name with 10 coming this season, was singing the same tune as Galloway.
“The environment created at Melbourne Victory on and off the pitch is a fantastic one to be a part of and extending my contract to stay at the club was a priority for me,” Mahazi said.
“I have enjoyed every minute of my time at the club and I can feel something special for the group is not too far away so I’m over the moon to be staying for another two years.”
The signings of both Galloway and Mahazi are seen as a huge boost for the club, who only in the last two months re-signed 21-year-old’s Connor Pain and Jason Geria, both to two-year extensions.
