Richmond SC took a shock lead right before half-time thanks to former Melbourne Heart player Kliment Taseski, before former Melbourne Heart Youth League captain Josh Groenwald made it 2-0 just two minutes into the second-half. But Tyson Holmes pulled one back for South Melbourne almost instantly, before levelling the scores in the 69th minute. Then up stepped Rhys Meredith to score the winner in the 73rd minute. A five-goal thriller at Lakeside and heart-break for Richmond, who are still yet to score a point in 2013.
