Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat has conceded James Troisi is unlikely to return to his squad for the 2014-15 season.
Troisi dazzled on loan with Victory last season, netting 15 goals in 35 appearances.
Now currently owned by Italian giants Juventus, Troisi earned selection in Ange Postecoglou’s World Cup squad, featuring twice as a substitute.
“It’s not on the radar,” Muscat said.
“You know, we’ve never really spoken about anyone’s contractual situation, so I’m not going to go into speaking about James, but that chapter’s probably one too far at the moment for us.”
Both Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers have expressed their interest in luring Troisi back to Australia with reports suggesting a possible move to Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem is also possibly on the cards.
Muscat though revealed he was in the market for a forward, midfielder and defender ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Aside from securing the signature of Besart Berisha last season, Frenchman Mattieu Delpierre and Socceroos midfielder Carl Valeri had seemingly filled the void in Muscat’s squad, with another forward the only other likely addition.
