Football Federation Victoria is set to announce Maxwell Gratton as its new CEO.
He moves from Basketball ACT, where he was the organisation’s CEO from 2014.
Gratton is a familiar face in Victorian football, having served at the FFV from 2007 to 2014.
Originally a tribunal and disciplinary manager from 20017-2009, he was also an operations manager of special projects and discipline between 2009-2014, and was at the federation during periods of Mark Rendell, Peter Gome and Mitchell Murphy’s tenures as CEO, and Nick Monteleone’s reign as president.
The Victoria University alumni was also involved in match day event operations at Melbourne Heart/City between 2010 and 2014.
The 32-year-old becomes the third CEO in 2016 at the organisation and fills the void left by interim CEO Cathy Acocks, who had initially succeeded Gome following his second stint after replacing Murphy.
Her own resignation followed the mass exodus of three board members Tal Karp, Sandra Lordanic and Tammi Rose, whose departures coincided with a decision by the board to annul a 2014 FFV tribunal guilty verdict against former board director, Aldrin de Zilva, who had served a two-year ban for allegedly using abusive language towards a 17-year-old female referee at a junior game. The claims were always disputed.
Gratton’s announcement as CEO is expected to be made by the organisation later today.
