Hume City have pulled off a big coup, signing former Victory player Theo Markelis and ex-Ballarat Red Devil Paul Harvey.
In a sign of intent, the 5th placed City signed the two attackers despite scoring the equal third highest number of goals this season so far.
Markelis spent his youth career at Valencia alongside the likes of David Villa, before enduring a frustrating spell at Melbourne Victory, where he only featured five times in the A-League.
He then had stints in Spain at Racing Santander and Hercules B, before joining Veria in Greece.
The 22-year-old also spent time at NPL 1 outfit Brunswick City last season in a coaching capacity.
Prolific goalscorer Harvey has previously featured for Bulleen Lions and Ballarat Red Devils – where he scored 8 goals in the top division – before turning out for Altona in State League One this season.
The attacking duo join to fight for a place in the starting 11 alongside Jai Ingham, Nick Hegarty and Calvin Mbarga, with the latter yet to find the back of the net in a league fixture this season.
They’ll be available for selection after the transfer window opens on May 15.
Hume’s next fixture is against 4th placed Melbourne Knights this weekend.
