Calder United will have Melbourne City fullback Tyla-Jay Vlajnic to call on for 2016 with the club making her their latest in a string of signing.
Vlajnic re-joins former coach Mark Torcaso and a number of her Bundoora United teammates at Calder off the back of her first W-League season.
She made her one and only appearance in the league with a start in the first ever Melbourne Derby, putting in a stellar performance in a 2-1 win, which saw her make a crucial interception on the line to deny Mindy Barbieri the opener.
The talented and versatile left-back – noted for her immense technical ability with the ball at feet – has spent the last four seasons with Bundoora, where she’s forged a reputation as one of the best defenders in the league.
She started her career senior career with the Eltham Redbacks before moving to Heidelberg, where she spent three seasons, while also spending a season playing futsal in the F-League for Vic Vipers in 2013.
“It’s fantastic to be teaming up with TJ again,” coach Torcaso said on his newest signing.
“She is a true professional and having spent six months with Melbourne City will have improved her game even more.
“We look forward to having TJ play with us and cannot wait to have her part of Calder United.”
She becomes the 14th member of the Calder United squad to sign on for next season, as their roster begins to fully take shape ahead of their debut later this year.
