Plenty of standout displays in March for some of the league’s most well-known players. All but four have vast NPL experience in this league and it’s no surprise they’ve been key performers for their sides.
TCF is also excited to announce that the winner at the end of the voting cycle will also win a $100 gift voucher courtesy of Soccer 5s Dandenong, to use on pitch-hire and a range of other offerings.
Tyson Holmes (Bentleigh Greens)
Bentleigh haven’t always had it their way this season but have managed to claw back some impressive results in March. There were the come-from-behind wins and draws against Hume City and Pascoe Vale respectively, plus the big win over St Albans. Holmes has been a key midfield lynchpin, and by our count has contributed at least three assists to be the side’s main provider.
Elvis Kamsoba (Melbourne Knights)
Melbourne Knights have signed a gem in Kamsoba from South Australia who has set the league alight on the wing. This was no clearer against Port Melbourne, where he bagged himself a brace and was involved in the build-up to a third. Was also a constant threat in the win against Bulleen. A second Player of the Month nomination for the speedy winger.
James McGarry (Hume City)
McGarry’s acquisition from the Knights was a big coup for Hume who had a proven performer amongst their high-profile ranks. So while results haven’t always been forthcoming this month, performances from McGarry have. Classy goals came in the loss against Bentleigh and defeat at Kingston, while he was also one of City’s most solid in a win over Bulleen.
Chris Oldfield (Avondale FC)
Oldfield has knocked on the door of a POTM nomination for many a month this year and last, and funnily it comes in a month where Avondale haven’t kept a clean sheet. Nonetheless Oldfield has been a figure of consistency and reliability between the sticks having had a taste of the A-League over the summer, one of his biggest highlights being a penalty save against Gully.
Davey van ‘t Schip (Pascoe Vale)
In a barnstorming start for Pascoe Vale so far this season, Davey van ‘t Schip the focal point of many of their victories. Scored in every game in March. Had a brace against St Albans, a goal and assist against Bentleigh, and was on the scoresheet against against Kingston City. Unstoppable at the moment in the league (luckily FFA Cup doesn’t count for this segment).
