South Melbourne have made former Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory youth Jesse Daley their first signing of the NPL Victoria off-season.
Most recently, the attacking midfielder captained the Brisbane Roar Youth team.
The 19-year-old scored eight league goals in 19 appearances for Roar Youth in NPL this term, and also spent a good part of the A-League pre-season training with the first team under John Aloisi.
He has previously made nine league appearances for Victory Youth in 2015 under mentor Darren Davies.
In 2015, as a 17-year-old, he was selected for a Young Socceroos squad for a series of matches in New Zealand against teams playing in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
“It’s great to be in Melbourne and to be given an opportunity with such a big club. I look forward to meeting my teammates and settling into the pre-season ahead of what promises to be a huge 2017,” Daley told the club.
His arrival comes following the departures of Chris Irwin to Kingston City, Iqi Jawadi to Oakleigh Cannons, and Amadu Koroma to Altona Magic.
