Northcote City made it six wins from six games in 2013 with another great display against Green Gully Cavaliers while at the other end of the table Richmond SC suffered their sixth loss from six games with a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Port Melbourne Sharks.

Oakleigh Cannons 0
Dandenong Thunder 1 (Bryan Bran 58′ PEN)
Venue: Jack Edwards Reserve
Miron Bleiberg’s first game in charge of Oakleigh Cannons after taking over mid-week ended in a disappointing defeat at the hands of Dandenong Thunder. Bryan Bran’s penalty was enough to separate the two sides, but the performance of Oakleigh goalkeeper Lewis Italiano was another major talking point from the game. The former Perth Glory back-up has certainly turned a few heads in recent weeks.

Pascoe Vale SC 0
Bentleigh Greens 1 (Evan Batsis 51′)
Venue: Hosken Reserve
Bentleigh Greens picked up all three points against Pascoe Vale on Friday night in a game that certainly won’t go down as a classic. Evan Batsis’ tap-in a short time in to the second half was enough for Bentleigh to secure victory and move up to second place on the table.

Melbourne Knights 3 (Shayan Alinejad 6′, Jacob Colosimo 76′, Anthony Colosimo 78′)
Southern Stars 0
Venue: Knights Stadium
Melbourne Knights ended their run of three games without a win with a 3-0 home victory over the struggling Southern Stars. Shayan Alinejad opened the scoring after just six minutes, before second-half goals to brothers Jacob and Anthony Colosimo ended any doubts as to who was to be victorious.

Hume City 3 (Turhan Sumbul 24′, Atilla Ofli 28′, Sean Canham 81′)
South Melbourne 2 (Dimi Hatzimouratis 45′ PEN, Shaun Kelly 58′)
Venue: Broadmeadows Valley Park
South Melbourne were involved in 3-2 thriller for the second week in a row but this time it was on the wrong end of the scoreline. Hume City raced to a two-goal lead, just like Richmond did last week, with South Melbourne clawing their way back to 2-2. But Hume City did not let their heads drop with Sean Canham going on to score the winner with ten minutes remaining in one of the upsets of the season so far.

Northcote City 2 (Dean Piemonte 58′, Bonel Obradovic 88′)
Green Gully Cavaliers 0
Venue: John Cain Memorial Park
Another week, another victim for Northcote City. They left it late though against the Green Gully Cavaliers, with second-half goals to Dean Piemonte and Bonel Obradovic making it six straight wins in 2013 for City. Not many people would have predicted Northcote to have such a dominant start. The question now stands, who will be able to beat them?

Richmond SC 1 (Erhan Karahan 5′)
Port Melbourne Sharks 2 (Kamal Ibrahim 17′, Kristian Sarkies 49′)
Venue: Kevin Bartlett Reserve
Despite scoring first for the second straight win, Richmond SC were once again unable to even come away with a point. They currently sit dead last with six losses from their opening six games, their worst ever start to a VPL campaign. It started so brightly for the home side when captain Erhan Karahan opened the scoring after just five minutes, but goals to Kamal Ibrahim and Kristian Sarkies either side of half-time ensured Port Melbourne left with all three points.
